Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
The OCT is the most recent imaging innovation in ophthalmology used to study the structure of the eye. Our doctors will be able to evaluate different layers of the retina and be able to diagnose and manage optic nerve and macular conditions even more effectively. Some common conditions the OCT is used to detect and monitor are glaucoma, macular degeneration and changes due to diabetes.
Digital Retinal Camera
Retinal imaging is a high resolution photographic system which details the retina and can be used to monitor the health of the eye. Every routine eye exam should always include a careful assessment of the retina to screen for abnormality or disease. Early detection of any abnormalities can help prevent further damage.
Visual Field Testing
A visual field test measures how much 'peripheral' vision you have. It is a straightforward test, painless, and does not involve eye drops. Essentially, lights are flashed on, and you have to press a button whenever you see the light. The lights are bright or dim at different stages of the test. Some of the flashes are purely to check that you are concentrating.
Our visual field machine is able to check the specific parameters as indicated by the DMV for individuals who have vision restrictions on their license.
