How Do I Get Started with Contact Lenses?

The process begins with a contact lens exam, which includes:

  • Can Kids Wear Contact Lenses?

Absolutely! Many children and teens successfully wear contact lenses. If your child is responsible and motivated, contacts can be a great option for sports, school, and daily life.

Whether you have worn contact lenses for many years or are looking to try them for the first time, we look forward to making your contact lens experience the best that it can be.

Soft Lenses

These lenses are comfortable and require replacement monthly, bi-weekly, or daily, as advised by your eyecare provider. They correct most prescriptions, including astigmatism. Modern materials like silicone hydrogels let more oxygen reach the eye, making soft lenses more comfortable to wear.

Gas-Permeable (GP) Lenses

Made of moderately flexible plastics, GP lenses offer sharp vision and correct most vision problems. They are more durable than soft contact lenses and can be easier to handle and care for but require a longer adaptation period and consistent wear to maintain adaptation.

Multifocal Lenses

Multifocal lenses in both soft and GP designs correct distance and near vision, like bifocals, so patients may not need reading glasses. We specialize in prescribing these lenses.

Color Contact Lenses

Enhance your eye color or even change it completely. Colored contact lenses by Alcon are fun and come in a variety of colors for both light and dark eyes.

Daily Contact Lenses

Daily contact lenses are the healthiest and most convenient choice. Using a new, sterile lens each day boosts comfort and lowers complications. No solutions or cases required—ask your doctor if daily lenses are right for you.

Scleral Contact Lenses

Specialty lenses offer superior vision and comfort for individuals with Keratoconus, irregular or post-surgical corneas, or Dry Eye Disease.
