Dr Kirsten Turrisi
Dr. Kirsten Turrisi is a native of Greenville, NC and holds a license to practice optometry in NC. She completed her Doctorate of Optometry from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences with Magna Cum Laude honors in 2019. She also earned her BS Degree in Business Management from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2012 when she began her career with the 20/20 Vision Center. Prior to her medical studies, Dr. Turrisi has worked throughout the practice as an optometric technician, optician and finance manager giving her unique insight in patient care management. She is also pursuing a Fellowship of the American Academy of Optometry where she has already had a study of hers on an idiopathic macular hemorrhage published by the American Optometric Association, recognizing the advanced understanding of a complex condition. Dr. Turrisi’s specialty is in the ocular management of hypertension and diabetic conditions.
Dr Erica Morris
Dr. Erica Morris is a native of Ohio and holds a license to practice in both Ohio and NC. She completed her Doctorate of Optometry from the Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2002. She earned her BA and BS Degrees in Zoology at Miami University in 1998. She has been in practice at 20/20 Vision Center in Greenville and Goldsboro since 2003. Her specialty is contact lens fitting, evaluation, prescribing and customizing each fit for every patient. She enjoys the youthful pre-teens, the after cataract contact fittings and everything in between. Dr. Morris only uses the latest technology when it comes to contacts because they promote healthy eyes and compliant patients. Dr. Morris has participated in the Gift of Sight mission trip to Mexico to help underprivileged people receive quality eye care. The 8 doctors who went on this mission examined nearly 20,000 people and prescribed donated glasses. She is an active member of the Coastal District Optometric Society, the NC State Optometric Society, the American Optometric Association and is a member of the PEO women’s organization. She resides in Greenville with her husband, Jay Morris, Ph.D., and their two daughters.
Dr Eileen Weitzel
Dr. Eileen Weitzel is a native of NY State and is a licensed optometrist. She earned her Doctorate of Optometry and BS degree in Visual Science in 1989 from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. After her fellowship at the Kellogg Eye Institute in Ann Arbor, MI she earned her BA degree in Biology from the University of NC at Charlotte. She has been in private practice in both Greenville and Goldsboro since 1999. Her primary focus is women’s health as it relates to medical health conditions. Conditions such as dry eye may be due to menopause, birth control medication or allergy medications. Certain conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis or breast cancer treatments may have a negative impact on the eye and vision. Dr. Weitzel has actively participated in the Gift of Sight mission trips to help underprivileged people receive quality eye care. She has gone to Haiti, Bolivia, Ecuador and Honduras. She also volunteers locally for vision van missions sponsored by the Lion’s Club. She is a member of the Coastal District Optometric Association, and St. Peter’s Catholic Church. She resides in Winterville with her husband, and has three daughters.
